This course is being offered during summer only to increase fluency in

three octave scales and fundamental technique. this course will help provide

readiness to enter Violin Breakfast Pre College level classes.

PRE COLLEGE:

This level suits students who are nearing the end of the Suzuki method or at the start of the Mozart Concerti

COLLEGIATE:

conservatory or pre professional level

CURRICULUM DESCRIPTION:

VIOLIN BREAKFAST is based off of the fundamentals course I taught at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

It is designed to help students increase balance, awareness, rhythm, aural elasticity, and pitch while strengthening fluency in scales, arpeggios, and double stops.

Students will participate in "Violin Think Tank" activities using scales and arpeggios as platforms to explore templated rhythms, bowing patterns, and techniques. These exercises were structured to promote greater technical facility, better pitch, and a mastery of the fingerboard.

A portion of every class will be dedicated to balance, breathing, and exercises to aid in the separation of the hands.

Schedules for each level are below:

Pre College Schedule:

MON/TUES/FRI 4:30pm-5:30pm PT

SUN 9-11am PT WORKSHOP

Collegiate Level Schedule:

ATTENDANCE:

live attendance on Zoom is not required but highly encouraged. Video replays are sent with PDFs and scores after each class. Most successful students attend live at least once a week and also watch replays to stay up to date with curriculum.

The fee to perform for rep class is 25 dollars.

Attendance is free.

Drop in or trial class fee is 25 dollars.

ALL ACCESS pass for Pre College or Collegiate Levels is 200 dollars a month and grants access to any class as well as replay links and materials shared in class.

all incoming students will be asked to provide a video so I can hear a recent clip of your playing to help me assess level and readiness.
